Ñîçäàë ïåðâóþ äåòàëüíóþ ñõåìó ôëîðèñòè÷åñêîãî ÷ëåíåíèÿ Âåëèêîáðèòàíèè, âûäåëèâ 18 ïðîâèíöèé, 38 ïîäïðîâèíöèé è 112 “ïîä-ãðàôñòâ” [vice-counties], ïðèíÿâ âî âíèìàíèå àäìèíèñòðàòèâíîå äåëåíèå ñòðàíû. Ïîêàçàë ñâÿçü ôëîðû Âåëèêîáðèòàíèè ñ ôëîðîé êîíòèíåíòàëüíîé Åâðîïû. Îäíèì èç ïåðâûõ èññëåäîâàë çàâèñèìîñòü ôëîðèñòè÷åñêîãî áîãàòñòâà îò ïëîùàäè ìåñòîîáèòàíèÿ.
