Торсон Гуннар – Thorson Gunnar Axel Wright (1906–1971)

Датский морской биолог, основатель и первый директор (с 1930 г.) Морской биологической лаборатории Копенгагенского университета.

Географическая изменчивость экологических стратегий у морских донных беспозвоночных, продолжительность их пелагических стадий. Установил закономерность, иногда именуемую “правилом Торсона”: наибольшая доля видов с пелагическим развитием и планктотрофной личинкой встречается в литоральной и сублиторальной зонах тропических и субтропических морей; напротив, в высоких широтах и в абиссальной зоне преобладают прямое развитие или развитие с лецитотрофной личинкой.
